This hunt is done in combination with elk during the rifle season.  Large bucks can be found along the higher ridges when the mule deer are beginning to rut.  The area consists of open meadows surrounded by thick green timer.  The camp is located in a wilderness area, which is a roadless area and no motorized vehicles are allowed.  A two hour horseback ride from the trailhead will get you to the hunters' tents.  The elevation is just under 6,000 feet.
